Waku Lodge, Gran Sabana and Angel Falls, Venezuela
Waku Lodge has the best location of all the lodges in Canaima situated right on the banks of the Canaima Lagoon with a spectacular view of the El Hacha, Golondrina and Ucaima waterfalls. The surrounding gardens are beautifully sculpted and are home to various tame parrots and macaws. There are only 15 rooms all individually decorated in local Purmon style with air-conditioning, en suite with hot water shower and semi-private terraces with hammock. The lodge offers some (expensive) excursions to the surrounding area and includes a 15 minute complimentary boat trip on the lagoon. Wifi is available in most areas.

Experiences while staying here
The following activities are designed to give you the most authentic experiences of the area where you’re staying. We work with local guides, who use their knowledge and often a resident’s eye to show you the main sights and more out-of-the-way attractions. Our specialists can also suggest outdoor pursuits and activities, such as cooking classes, that will introduce you to the traditions of the area’s inhabitants.
Experience one of the most unmissable sights in Venezuela - The truly breathtaking Angel Falls, the highest waterfall in the world, plunging 979m down a vertical cliff from Auyan tepui.
At the base of the falls trek for approx 1.5 hours up to Laime's lookout, to watch the magnificent falls dropping 979 metres above you just 200 metres away - an awesome sight.
