Itinerary idea in detail

Includes international flights from a choice of UK airports, including London, Birmingham, Manchester, Newcastle, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

  • Today you begin your journey by boarding your international outbound flight to Lusaka.

  • Arrive in Lusaka and connect onto a light aircraft flight to Mfuwe. Upon arrival, a driver will meet you and drive you through the small town to your lodge on the banks of the Luangwa River.

  • Morning safaris tend to leave just after sunrise, cross the river into the national park with your guide and embark on a three-hour game drive exploring the lagoons and plains in search of a multitude of wildlife such as elephant, zebra, buffalo, giraffe and leopard, and lion too. Return to the lodge for lunch and a dip in the refreshing pool.

  • This morning, you could try a walking safari. The South Luangwa is well known for its guided walks, which offer a chance to get closer to the smaller animals and learn about their habitats.

  • This morning, you could enjoy a morning bush walk, followed by an afternoon game drive continuing until after dark to see some of the amazing nocturnal game. Night drives are an excellent time to look for leopards and other predators who use the cover of darkness to hunt their prey.

  • Your last full day on safari — if there is anything, in particular, you are still keen to see, let your guide know so they can take you to the best areas for a sighting.

  • Today you will be transferred from the camp to the airport for your light aircraft flight to Livingstone via Lusaka. You can stop at a local craft and textile market to pick up some hand-made souvenirs on the way to the airport. In Livingstone, a driver will meet you for the journey to your next riverside lodge. Head out onto the Zambezi River for a sunset river cruise.

  • A full day at leisure to explore Victoria Falls and the surrounding areas. There are lots of activities to do in the area, choose from guided nature walks, a tour of the falls, fishing, rhino tracking or a village visit.

  • The Victoria Falls region is known for its adrenaline activities, take to the skies in a helicopter or microlight for an aerial view of the falls, Zambezi River and Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park. Alternatively, you can walk across Victoria Falls Bridge into Zimbabwe to gain a different perspective of the Zambezi gorges.

  • Enjoy a leisurely riverside breakfast before your transfer to the airport to commence your journey home.

  • Arrive home today to complete your journey.
