Hotel Pulitzer

Buenos Aires, Argentina

With 12 floors and over 100 rooms and suites, the Pulitzer is quite a large offering for Buenos Aires. However, its decor and friendly service create the air of a boutique hotel, striking a good balance between character and practicalities.

The bold white and black exterior of the hotel is reflected inside with monochrome geometric designs, and this combined with the polished wooden floors and leather seating in the lobby give the hotel a slick, urban feel with a hint of retro styling. Accommodation is smart whilst still being homely, offering plenty of natural light and a host of modern amenities.

OUR OPINION:

The Pulitzer is a quirky, modern hotel in a good downtown location. We really love the attentive staff and the relatively affordable base it provides for exploring the city.

Rooms

This hotel offers three room categories; Standard, Superior and Suite. Standard rooms feature a queen size bed or twin single beds. Décor is bold and bright, and the en suite bathrooms are relatively spacious for a city center hotel, with combined bath and shower and a striking black and white design. Superior rooms offer the same bed configurations but feature more space in the bedroom and bathroom, while Suites offer more space still, with a separate living area designed to create a light and airy space in which to relax. All rooms have a TV, minibar and complimentary Wi-Fi connection, as well as standard amenities such as an in-room safe and heating/air conditioning.

Location

Although the downtown area of Buenos Aires is perhaps not as famous as the upmarket neighborhoods of Recoleta or Palermo, it's a very convenient place to stay, with good links to the rest of the city. The Pulitzer is located two blocks from Plaza San Martin, a leafy central square surrounded by a number of monuments, public buildings and museums.

Food and drink

The hotel’s breakfast is served buffet-style in the light and airy breakfast room. Guests can choose from hot dishes or more simple continental options, such as cereal and fruit. Although the hotel doesn’t serve dinner, it does have a stylish bar-restaurant (open to the public) on the ground floor that serves drinks, bar snacks and light meals. In summer (mid-October to mid-April) guests can choose to have lunch or drinks in the Sky Bar, which boasts great views of downtown Buenos Aires.

Facilities and activities

The swimming pool, while on the small side, is a pleasant place to relax during the summer months of December to March, surrounded by teak sunloungers. Enjoy sweeping city views from the hotel’s Sky Bar and stay active in the small but well-equipped gym. Laundry, babysitting and massage services are also offered.
