Day 1 Airlie Beach

Airlie Beach

Arrive in Airlie Beach in time to check in for your two night cruise around the Whitsundays. You'll set sail in the afternoon on your first exciting day of exploration.

Day 2 Airlie Beach

Airlie Beach

The schedule for sailing trips can vary depending on conditions, however expect a full day of swimming, snorkelling and exploration of this beautiful region. Today you are likely to visit the idyllic Whitehaven Beach, which is often ranked as one of most beautiful beaches in the world.

Day 3 Hamilton Island

Airlie Beach , Hamilton Island

You'll enjoy more time on and below the beautiful turquoise waters of the Whitsundays this morning before returning to port at Airlie Beach. After collecting your bags you'll take a ferry transfer from Airlie Beach across to Hamilton Island where you'll spend the next two nights.

Day 4 Hamilton Island

Hamilton Island

A full day at leisure to explore the highlights of Hamilton Island. Choose to do as much or as little as you like today. Lounge by one of the pools or on the beautiful Cats Eye Beach; take to the waters and hire a kayak, paddleboard or windsurfer; or, explore the surprisingly vast network of walking trails that spider throughout the island.

Day 5 Daintree & Cape Tribulation

Hamilton Island , Cairns , Daintree & Cape Tribulation

You'll depart Hamilton Island this morning and fly north to the vibrant city of Cairns, a flight of approximately 1 hour and a quarter. Upon arrival collect a hire-car and drive the Captain Cook Highway and into the lush Daintree Rainforest. You'll check into your lodge for two nights located in the thick of the rainforest.

Day 6 Daintree & Cape Tribulation

Daintree & Cape Tribulation

Spend a full day at leisure exploring this special place. The Daintree - Cape Tribulation coast is the only place in the world where two World Heritage Sites exist side by side: the world famous Great Barrier Reef and the most ancient rainforest in the world, the Daintree National Park. Suffice to say, there is a lot to do in this natural environment, including plenty of walking opportunities. We'd recommend sampling a few of these well signposted walks on a day exploring the area, including from the accessible Cape Tribulation car park from where a short boardwalk winds its way through mangroves and coastal scenery.

Day 7 Cooktown

Daintree & Cape Tribulation , Port Douglas , Cooktown

Unless travelling with a 4x4, you'll need to retrace some of your steps south this morning before heading inland and travelling around the western perimeter of the Daintree Rainforest on the accessible sealed route to Cooktown. This journey is approximately 4.5 hours. Arrive in Cooktown this afternoon and enjoy a relaxing afternoon with your gregarious hosts and exploring the lodge's beautiful landscaped gardens.

Day 8 Cooktown

Enjoy a day at leisure exploring the colonial town of Cooktown and perhaps venturing further afield to some of its numerous natural attractions which are within a short distance of the town itself.

Day 9 Cooktown

Another full day to explore the region. Perhaps travel out of Cooktown today and join a small group tour for an introduction into the rich indigenous culture in the region.

Day 10 Palm Cove

Cooktown , Palm Cove

You'll travel from forest to beach today and loop back to the pretty beach town of Palm Cove, just north of Cairns. We suggest making a day of it and travelling via the impressive Aboriginal cultural centre and rock art sites of the Quinkan Galleries. The driving time today is approximately five and a half hours.

Day 11 Palm Cove

Palm Cove

Spend your last full day unwinding and relaxing by the beach and enjoying the fantastic range of cafes and restaurants that line Palm Cove's main street.

Day 12 Return home

Palm Cove

Make your way back to Cairns in time for your onwards flight.
