Le Boutique Hotel

Le Boutique Hotel

Bordeaux, France

Le Boutique Hotel is located in a historic 18th-century building in the heart of Bordeaux. Originally the residence of the aristocratic Peyronnet family, who had links to King Louis XVIII, it was a meeting place for members of high society and the political elite. Its neo-Renaissance façade, stone lobby and grand staircase have all survived intact.

Occupying a central position in Bordeaux, the hotel is a few minutes’ walk from the Triangle d’Or and a leisurely 15-minute stroll from the Garonne River.

The 27 rooms and suites are situated within the three buildings that make up the hotel — the original mansion and two smaller houses — and frame an intimate courtyard. Rooms vary in size and character, but most have traditional tall windows that let in plenty of natural light, and many have high ceilings.

While there’s no formal restaurant, there is a wine bar in the courtyard, where you’re able to taste different Bordeaux wines and enjoy tapas well into the evening.

OUR OPINION:

We love Le Boutique Hotel for its thoughtfully designed rooms, central location and trendy interior courtyard. For us, another plus is its proximity to the Médoc area, which makes it a great base for visiting the Bordeaux wine region.

Rooms

The 27 rooms are decorated in contemporary style with a mix of modern-classic and vintage furniture. They vary in size, ranging from large suites to cosier spaces. Many rooms have small balconies or terraces, and all face either the hotel’s interior courtyard or out onto the streets. Every room has a shower or bath and, while many have separate en suites, some have open-plan bathing areas within the room. All rooms have seating areas, air conditioning, tea- and coffee-making facilities, a TV and free Wi-Fi.

Location

Tucked away on a side street near the busy Place Tourny, the hotel offers a refuge from the hustle and bustle of the city. Yet the shops, restaurants, galleries and bars are just around the corner, while the Garonne River and the Place de la Bourse are a 15-minute walk away.

Food and drink

While there’s no restaurant, there is a wine bar stocked with hundreds of wines. The majority are from the Bordeaux region and a knowledgeable sommelier will guide you through the menu. A selection of gourmet tapas, prepared by the hotel chef, is also available. A continental breakfast is served daily either in your room, in the breakfast room, or outside on the terrace. Hotel staff can recommend one of the many nearby restaurants.

Families

Children under three stay free; cots and extra beds are available for a nightly charge. There are also two two-bedroom apartments on the top floor of the hotel, each with a fully equipped kitchen, living area, dining area and bathroom.

Facilities and activities

The hotel offers a range of beauty treatments, including massages, facials and manicures. Staff can help to arrange local activities, including vineyard tours, trips to the coast and golf. There’s no parking at the hotel, but you can use a nearby car park at a discounted rate.

Accessibility

Two of the guest rooms are accessible and there are ramps in the common areas.
