Inn at the Roman Forum

Inn at the Roman Forum

Rome, Italy

Located just steps from Rome’s most ancient ruins, The Inn at the Roman Forum is a charming boutique hotel with just 20 stylishly decorated rooms. It is tucked away on a quiet residential street that belies its highly convenient location and inside, encased within the structure of the hotel and the surrounding buildings, is a courtyard of Roman ruins, where you can sit and enjoy a glass of wine or relax with a book.

The rest of the hotel is beautifully furnished in an elegant but contemporary style and offers a high level of comfort. There is a sunny roof terrace with views over the rooftops toward the Piazza Venezia and a shady walled garden to the back. As well as offering a hearty breakfast, the hotel also serves a range of sweets and sandwiches throughout the day if you need to stop and refuel during your sightseeing. In the evening there you can enjoy an aperitivo in the garden before heading up to the charming rooms.

OUR OPINION:

Offering impeccable service in an ideal location, we highly recommend this characterful boutique option for those looking for something a little different from a standard hotel.

Rooms

Although the hotel is surrounded by ruins from thousands of years ago, its interior is very chic and comfortable. Rooms are brightly decorated and contemporary in style while still maintaining a classic element in elegant curtains and sparkling chandeliers. In keeping with the contemporary design, rooms also offer modern amenities such as free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, flat-screen TVs and iPod docking systems. The two suites are opulently decorated and have spacious marble bathrooms with Jacuzzi baths.

Location

As its name would suggest, the hotel is mere steps away from the ruins of the Roman Forum, with some of the ruins contained within the hotel itself. The hotel is also within a ten-minute walk of Piazza Venezia and the Colosseum.

Food and drink

The Inn at the Roman Forum does not have a full restaurant, though it does have a glorious rooftop terrace, covered with greenery and providing an unparalleled view of the ruins. On the terrace guests can enjoy a drink and some snacks during the evening. There is also a lounge bar where guests can relax with a cocktail. In the morning, breakfast is served in a small but comfortable breakfast room, with a choice between fresh cakes and pastries or hot options.
