The Inn at the Spanish Steps
Occupying an enviable location in the heart of Rome, The Inn at the Spanish Steps offers an intriguing boutique hotel concept that allows their guests to feel part of the city. The property is not simply a hotel but a series of small annexes, clustered, as the name suggests, right by the Spanish Steps. Each section offers a selection of rooms nestled within the grand buildings that make up the city’s most fashionable shopping district, and contains a private lounge and terrace where breakfast is served each morning.
With impeccable service and attention to detail, the Inn gives the impression that you are staying within your own luxurious set of suites rather than a traditional hotel. Particularly as each section only has a handful of rooms. After breakfast has been cleared each morning, the friendly staff lay out a selection of sweets and sandwiches in the lounge area that is available throughout the day should you wish to refuel in between sightseeing. In the evening, an aperitivo selection is also available in the main bar area.
With each annex located in a different building, the rooms here offer an array of diversity in terms of their situation and views. However, all are beautifully furnished in an elegant and sumptuous style and feature air conditioning, free Wi-Fi and flat-screen TVs. Each annex has its own roof terrace and private lounge where breakfast is served each morning with views of either the surrounding streets or the Piazza Spagna. Those opting for one of the Panoramic suites will be treated to spectacular views of the Spanish Steps right from their window.
Various combinations of rooms and suites can be linked together for groups traveling together. It is also possible to book an entire annex section or floor to ensure complete privacy.
Situated in one of the best locations in central Rome, the Inn at the Spanish Steps makes for an ideal base from which to explore. As the name suggests, the Spanish Steps are right on the doorstep while the Trevi Fountain, Pantheon and Piazza Navona can all be reached on foot, though the heart of the city, in less than 20 minutes. The elegant Via Condotti, Rome’s most stylish designer shopping street is right outside and there are wealth of excellent bars and restaurants all within easy walking distance.
Food and Drink
The breakfasts here are particularly good and feature a varied hot and cold buffet selection along with fresh pasties, fruit, meats and cheeses. Staff are on hand in each of the private lounge areas to provide fresh coffee and eggs cooked to order. After breakfast has been cleared each morning, they also lay out a selection of sweets and sandwiches that are available throughout the day should you wish to refuel in between sightseeing. In the evening, an aperitivo selection is available in the main bar area as well.
We particularly like sitting out on the terrace, enjoying breakfast each morning nestled among the rooftops and watching the city come to life.
