Lake Tazawa-ko is a crater lake which at 423.4 metres in depth is the deepest in Japan.
Surrounded by a gentle range of hills, which provide the lake with a bright atmosphere, the almost perfectly circular lake is filled with superbly clear sapphire-blue water, inviting us to sink below its surface.
