This comfortable, high-quality guesthouse has a quiet location whilst still being close to Windhoek’s bustling centre. Its stylish architecture and elegant style is balanced by its simple décor, with exposed stone and cement combining with wrought iron furniture and comfortable sofas to give it a rustic, ‘shabby-chic’ appeal.

The tastefully decorated indoor lounge has a cosy fireplace, while the open-air seating area, sun lounge, plunge pool and tranquil garden allow you to unwind in the sun or cool off under the shade of a tree or canopy. During your stay you can expect a friendly, personal service from the efficient staff, who will be happy to make recommendations for your free time.

OUR OPINION:

Olive Grove is one of our favourite options for a stay in Windhoek. It’s a great place to relax, but still close to the buzzing town, whose shops, restaurants and other attractions are well worth exploring.

Rooms

Furnished in a simple, minimalist style, each of the spacious rooms has air conditioning, a minibar, coffee making facilities and a Moroccan teapot to match the Moroccan-style lamps. The bed bases, cupboards and bathrooms are all made of cemented brick to provide a rustic twist, contrasting with the crisp white linens, patterned cushions and light colour scheme. A large shared veranda to the front of the rooms is furnished with tables and chairs for alfresco dining.

Location

The guesthouse is situated close to the centre of Windhoek in the peaceful suburb of Klein Windhoek. It’s conveniently placed for enjoying time in the country’s capital before or after exploring the wilder side of Namibia. Windhoek itself is a modern, cosmopolitan city that’s home to a mix of cultures, and during your stay you can browse its many shops, cafés and restaurants.

Food and drink

Delicious breakfasts are served each morning, including eggs, fresh bread and muffins, cold meats, cheeses, fruits, juices, pancakes and fresh coffee. Dinners are served in the evening out on the patio or in the privacy of your room. Pre- or post-dinner drinks, including wine, can be enjoyed in the lounge or in the open-air seating area. Alternatively, head into town to try out the various restaurants and bars.

Facilities and activities

For a spot of relaxation, Olive Grove’s wellness room offers a variety of massage treatments six days a week. Those who wish to stay in touch with family and friends can make use of the guest computer, and complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the property. The plunge pool is particularly inviting on a hot day, or you can simply unwind on the surrounding sun loungers.
