Hoyo Hoyo Tsonga Lodge
Hoyo Hoyo Tsonga Lodge, Kruger National Park, South Africa
Hoyo-Hoyo is set in its own private concession within the Kruger National Park. As with any lodge you have your morning and evening game drives but during the day you can easily go out and explore the Kruger by yourself. Hoyo-Hoyo means "welcome" in Shangaan and that is definitely how they make you feel here.
There are six suites set in a moon shape around the main lodge all over looking a dry river bed. The rooms are wonderful with high thatched roofs and warm yellow and red decor, there are outdoor showers, indoor eggshell baths and a private toilet. All the rooms have air conditioning and their own deck area to relax on during the day. The main lodge has a large deck area where dinner is normally eaten and they light a large fire for you. The lodge is run and managed by locals so you get a proper African welcome and experience.
