Layana Resort & Spa
A boutique property with just 57 rooms, Layana Resort & Spa is set on one of the best beaches on Thailand on the beautiful island of Koh Lanta on the west coast.
An adults only resort, the property has a peaceful and sophisticated yet informal atmosphere. The location on Long Beach with over 3 km of soft, golden sand is definitely one of the key attractions and a range of local restaurants and resorts in the area allow for a choice of dining. Another highlight is the first-rate spa which offers excellent treatments. A range of watersports facilities as well as boat trips, mountain bikes, a dive centre and lessons in Thai cookery or Thai boxing ensure that there is plenty to do but most guests come here simply to relax.
The 57 spacious pavilions, suites and villas are set in tropical gardens or along the beachfront. Many offer excellent sea views while some enjoy direct access to one of the hotel’s 2 pools or an outdoor Jacuzzi.

A busy, modern city, Singapore mixes Indian and Chinese heritage, colonial history and striking modern architecture. The metro system makes it easy to get around the city whether you’re exploring the fantastical Gardens by the Bay, the winding streets of Little India or colonial buildings along the waterfront.
Food is one of the highlights of a visit to Singapore, with the cultural mix of the city delivering everything from delicious street food stalls serving Indian or Chinese dishes to fine dining in Michelin starred restaurants. Similarly shopping in Singapore ranges from sari shops in Little India and traditional medicine in Chinatown to large malls and designer fashion.
The elegant and luxurious Fullerton Hotel sits in a colonial building dating back to 1928 with a rich heritage and beautiful architecture. The hotel has a good location close to Clarke Quay and the 400 rooms have views over the atrium courtyard or over the city skyline, the river or the sea.

This adults-only resort is set on a beach with access to a choice of restaurants along a stretch of golden sand. This is a great value resort offering relaxed and refined luxury. The dining here is excellent, as is the spa, and both are great value compared to many other luxury resorts in Thailand.
The spacious and smart rooms have a light, contemporary decor and are fully equipped with all the amenities you need for a comfortable stay including air-conditioning, Wi-Fi, TV and DVD, safe and tea/coffee facilities.
Beach Villa's are set on the edge of the beach in single story buildings. These rooms are a spacious 59m2. Step straight onto the beach and enjoy excellent sea views from your terrace.

Activities, diving & excursions
Two large saltwater pools form the showpiece of the resort, with the wellness pool near reception and the main pool and Jacuzzi at the beachfront.
Hobie-Cat sailing is available from November to April and the hotel also offers kayaks. On land there's a fitness room with a variety of equipment and the hotel also has mountain bikes.
The hotel arranges complimentary wine tasting weekly as well as Thai cooking lessons and Thai boxing (November to April). Layana can also arrange boat trips for snorkeling in the surrounding waters.
Diving is possible from about November to April; outside this time the weather conditions are not suitable for diving.
There's a PADI school at the hotel where guests can arrange diving in nearby Phi Phi Marine National Park or Mu Koh Lanta Marina National Park. In the latter, Hin Daeng and Hin Muang are renowned as some of the best diving in Thailand apart from the Similan Islands. Their coral plays host to a wide variety of marine life including reef fish, barracuda, reef sharks, manta rays and even occasionally whale sharks (February to April).
Food & drink
Tides Restaurant serves an à la carte selection of international dishes as well as traditional Thai fare and seafood specialities. The restaurant is perched on the very edge of the beach overlooking the sea, open to the cooling sea breezes. Guests have the choice of a cool interior venue, or an alfresco beachside setting on the deck in front of the restaurant.
The restaurant is quite formal with a dress code in the evening of ‘resort casual’: for gentlemen, this means sport slacks, khakis, jeans (no cut-offs), dress shorts (long), and a collared polo or sport shirt. Ladies can wear casual dresses, casual skirts or trousers and blouses, Capri pants, dress shorts, or jeans (no cut-offs). Gym shorts, beach flip-flops, bathing suit attire, cut-off jeans and sleeveless shirts for men are not permitted.
The Sundowners Bar, facing the beach, is an ideal location for refreshing fruit shakes, cool drinks and evening cocktails.
Layana's 'Linger Longer Spa' is secluded and peaceful, set within its own walled garden.
There are five treatment rooms and the menu fuses influences from east and west to promote physical, mental and emotional well-being. All therapists are fully trained and the products used are top quality. The spa also offers a sauna, outdoor Jacuzzi and salt treatment room.
During the 14th century, Singapore flourished as a trading post with Chinese junks, Indian vessels, Arab dhows and Portuguese battleships frequenting its shores. Today Singapore is a predominantly Chinese society, with Malays, Indians and Europeans adding to the ethnic mix and the scene is one of shimmering skyscrapers and busy streets.
The influx of different cultures has made Singapore the culinary capital of Asia, with an incredible array of dishes and styles on offer. Sample the variety as you explore Chinatown and Little India, eating at hawker stalls or fine restaurants. After dark, take a dinner cruise, visit the theatre or stroll down to Robertson, Boat or Clarke Quay with its riverside restaurants, bars and clubs. New developments around the Marina Bay area are opening constantly and this has created a real buzz about Singapore.
