Rooms

Each tent offers sweeping lagoon views, a private deck, and a plunge pool. They come equipped with air conditioning, ceiling fans, indoor and outdoor showers and baths, oversized beds with premium linens, mosquito nets, and thoughtful touches like a complimentary daily laundry service. The Director’s Tent includes added luxuries such as Wi-Fi, DSTV, a Nespresso machine, and an outdoor sleeping area.

The southernmost camp in South Luangwa National Park, Sungani is renowned for its high concentration of wildlife, making it one of the world’s premier safari destinations. The camp itself rests beside a serene lagoon, offering breathtaking views and a front-row seat to the ever-changing wildlife that frequents the water’s edge.

Food and drink

Breakfast can be enjoyed either á la carte or grab-and-go. A hearty buffet lunch is served after your morning activity, and refreshing drinks are available all afternoon. In keeping with classic safari style, afternoon tea is served daily on the main deck. Dinners focus on locally sourced meat, vegetables, and fresh garden herbs.

Facilities and activities

The camp’s lounge features ample seating, all positioned for optimal view over the lagoon. The pool is perfect for beating the midday heat, and after dinner, guests are invited to recap the day around the fire pit. A short stroll from the main lodge, a fully equipped, air-conditioned gym is available for all guests. The on-site photography studio is perfect for editing and organising your best shots from the day’s drives.

Beyond relaxing by the lagoon, guests can embark on guided walking safaris — an experience pioneered in Zambia — led by expert guides who bring the bush to life. Wildlife drives in custom vehicles allow you to explore more of the area, while photography enthusiasts can find the perfect vantage point at Sungani's hides to capture unforgettable moments.
