Guleria Kothi, Varanasi, India

Our rating: Medium

Located on Guleria Ghat right on the banks of Ganges River, the property is typical of the riverfront architecture of Varanasi. There are just 15 rooms which are comfortable and tastefully decorated and most have views.

There is a roof top restaurant and terrace area at the entrance of the property which are perfect to simply relax and take in the incredible scenes that take place along the ghats. Within the property is a small shrine and please note that being on the ghats there is no meat or alcohol served at the property.

It's located on one of the quieter ghats but it is a little difficult to reach and we would recommend taking a boat on arrival and departure, it is around a 30 minute walk along the ghats so you do need to be prepared to get amongst the chaos of Varanasi to stay here.
