Augusta De Mist Country House

Augusta de Mist is an old Cape farmstead dating back to 1802 situated just outside central Swellendam. The main building and garden cottages are original, while the luxury cottages are more recent additions. The cottages and salt water swimming pool are set in over an acre of verdant, tranquil herb and flower gardens on a gentle sloping hill. Each of the seven en suite rooms are individually decorated in a stylish and quirky manner with various trinkets from across Africa adorning the walls and rooms. Most also have a fireplace for heating the rooms during the cooler winter months. All have excellent amenities including a complimentary minibar, tea and coffee making facilities, digital safe, hair dryer, private patios and Wi-Fi.

Much pride is taken on the food here, with multi course dinners created by Henk, a one time opera singer, and served alongside an extensive wine list.

Augusta de Mist is a lovely, peaceful retreat and an ideal stopover on your way to or from the Garden Route, or for exploring the Overberg region. It is very relaxing, be it in the privacy of your room or in the wonderful gardens.
