Arenal Springs Hotel

Arenal Springs Hotel

Arenal Volcano, Costa Rica

Set in expansive grounds with swathes of tropical gardens, Arenal Springs is a pleasant and comfortable choice for your time in Arenal. Although the hotel comes with the feel of an international resort, this reflects the style of most hotels in this area and it still generally receives very good feedback from our returning clients.

A series of rooms are located in low-rise bungalows dotted around the grounds and connected by well-surfaced roads. The Arenal Volcano itself is visible almost everywhere throughout the grounds when the weather is clear, and the hub of the resort is the main restaurant, swimming pool and hot springs complex.

OUR OPINION:

Despite lacking a little character, the Arenal Springs is a well-run and friendly hotel offering a great range of facilities. We love the on site hot springs and the variety of colourful birds that can often be spotted in the grounds.

Rooms

The resort's accommodation is made up of Junior Suites and Master Suites, all of which are light and airy and set within the delightful gardens with views of the Arenal Volcano. Amenities include air conditioning, cable TV, minibars, ceiling fans, safes, hair dryers, complimentary Wi-Fi and tea/coffee making facilities. Each suite also features a private terrace and an en suite bathroom.

Junior Suites have either a king size bed or two queen size beds, and some can be connected to accommodate larger groups or families. The more spacious Master Suites have two bedrooms — one with a king size bed and another with two queen size beds, while the living area features two sofa beds for additional guests. They each have their own natural spring Jacuzzi, both an indoor and an outdoor shower, two TVs and a terrace with two hammocks, allowing guests to truly relax as they take in views of the volcano.

Location

The hotel is situated a ten-minute taxi journey from the main town of La Fortuna. All tour companies collect from Arenal Springs, allowing you to easily take advantage of activities in the local area.

Food and drink

The main restaurant, Ti-Cain, serves a daily buffet breakfast, as well as a variety of national and international dishes served à la carte for lunch and dinner in an informal setting. There's also a smaller restaurant that specialises in Italian cuisine, as well as a poolside sushi bar.

Facilities and activities

One of the highlights of a stay at Arenal Springs is enjoying a soak in the four-pool hot springs complex — unlike others in the area, it's exclusively for the use of hotel guests and is a wonderful place to relax. Other facilities include two swimming pools (one of which is adults-only), a yoga platform with free classes and a spa offering a variety of treatments.
