Interior designer Saar Zafrir has created a luxurious yet laid-back atmosphere with potted palms and olive trees, mid-century modern furniture, and a mix of contemporary and traditional decorative details within the white stone exterior. The hotel’s 42 rooms are well thought out, with plenty of space and top-level comfort. Designed to be more than a place to sleep, the hotel offers several spaces for relaxation, with poolside terraces, a spa and beach club, as well as a glamorous indoor lounge with piano bar. The hotel’s Cartina Restaurant is frequented by guests and locals alike, and is popular for its innovative menu and high-quality ingredients.

Beyond the hotel’s idyllic beachfront location, the historic sites of Trogir are easily accessed on foot.

Rooms

The hotel’s 43 rooms all feature the same hip style and high-end furnishings, with wooden flooring, light-toned walls, and dark wood and leather furniture. Options range from comfy Superior to larger Loft rooms, generously sized Deluxe rooms, and a range of luxurious suites, including a Presidential Suite with living room, fully equipped kitchen and dining table. Most room types are available with a sea view. Bathrooms are spacious and marble tiled, with full bathtubs in all suite categories. All rooms feature either one large or two smaller beds, air conditioning, satellite TV, a minibar, tea- and coffee-making facilities, and complimentary Wi-Fi.

Location

Just 1 km (half a mile) from the heart of Trogir — itself just 5 km (3 miles) from Split Airport — Brown Beach House sits on the island of Čiovo, with panoramic coastal views looking back across the water to the town. The hotel offers peaceful seclusion, including its own beach club fronting the Adriatic Sea. Walking back across a short bridge to Trogir’s historic sights, shops and restaurants takes just ten minutes.

Food and drink

The hotel’s farm-to-table restaurant, Cartina, serves a buffet breakfast with fresh fruit, meat, cheese, olives and pastries, as well as eggs cooked to your preference. Indoor and outdoor seating options are available for lunch and dinner with a menu focusing on locally sourced fresh fish and seafood, in addition to pasta, meat and vegetarian options. The hotel also features three bars, including a romantic poolside terrace and a beachside option that serves snacks and light bites.

Families

Brown Beach House is family friendly and has a dedicated children’s playroom by the main pool with toys, games and DVDs. There’s also a large inflatable obstacle course near the beach bar for older children to enjoy. Family Suites have two bedrooms and a living room, and can accommodate up to five guests. Cots and highchairs are available.

Facilities and activities

With a large outdoor pool overlooking the Adriatic and a second, more private pool at the back of the property, finding some sunshine is never an issue. The hotel also provides sunbeds on the pebble-sand beach over the road. There’s a spa and wellness studio with sauna, Jacuzzi, gym and treatment rooms offering massages and beauty services. You can also use the hotel’s bicycles to explore the island.
