Iberostar Parque Central

Iberostar Parque Central

The Iberostar Parque Central is one of Havana's best modern hotels; and what it lacks in character it makes up for by having one of the best locations in the city - right on the leafy main square after which it is named. The building has been designed in a classical style, blending in with all the historic palaces, theatres, and museums surrounding it. Guest accommodation is set in two neighbouring buildings; a colonial wing and a modern wing, which are connected by an underground tunnel. Each has its own distinct feel, but the difference between the two is minimal and facilities at the hotel are amongst the best in Havana.

Rooms

The hotel has over 420 Standard rooms and Junior Suites in total, divided between the modern and colonial wings. Each features a private bathroom, cable TV, mini bar and safe, as well as double glazing to minimise outside noise. Some rooms also have a small balcony, and all offer either a king size bed or two queen size doubles.

Location

The leafy Parque Central itself is surrounded by historic buildings and taxi ranks full of classic cars. The Iberostar’s location is perfect for exploring the grand buildings of Central and Prado, and it's just a short walk through characterful, crumbling streets to the old quarter, Havana Vieja.

Food and drink

A daily buffet breakfast is served in one of the hotel’s ground floor restaurants. Lunch and dinner are available a la carte from one of three restaurants - a steak house, a more informal Italian restaurant and a restaurant on an upper floor which serves Cuban and international cuisine, and benefits from fantastic city views. For evening drinks you can head to one of the hotel's two lobby bars.

Facilities and activities

Unlike many hotels in Havana, the Iberostar offers all the facilities you would expect of a modern international standard hotel. Its fantastic rooftop pool with marvellous views of the city is reason alone for a visit. Other facilities include a spa and fitness centre, two lobby bars that host live music, an in-house medic, laundry service and currency exchange.

Our opinion

The Iberostar Parque Central is a firm Audley favourite in the city - although perhaps not as characterful as some of the smaller hotels in the city, the facilities are excellent and the service levels are significantly better than you'll find anywhere else in Cuba.
