Paradisus Varadero, Varadero, Cuba
The Paradisus is located towards the tip of the Peninsula de Hicacos, set well away from the more run down parts of Varadero. The all-inclusive resort is a good one by Cuban standards and benefits from foreign investment and management by the Pardisus chain which means the service, food and standard of accommodation is better than most other resorts in Varadero.
However it is important to understand that this is only a good resort by Cuban standards, it is still not up to international standards and the service is still slow and laid back and the food is average compared to resorts in many other parts of the world! The rooms are well laid out in various low rise blocks which are absorbed well by pleasant tropical gardens. They are spacious studio style rooms with a balcony or terrace and they have surprisingly good bathrooms.
It operates on an all inclusive basis and therefore the majority of guests are package holiday tourists but for what it lacks in character it makes up for in facilities a good location and one of the best stretches of beach in Varadero. The Paradisus also has a couple of Garden Villas located in a private area set away from the rest of the resort. They have large bedrooms, their own plunge pools and separate lounge area.
The Paradisus also has a new Royal Service area of the hotel with a separate concierge, pool and private beach. The rooms are spacious and each have a terrace where guests will be served breakfast every morning. The bathrooms have jacuzzi baths and outdoor showers. This part of the hotel is much more private but guests have access to the rest of the hotel should they wish to use it's facilities.
