The conveniently located Blue Haven Hotel offers a warm welcome and provides comfortable and attractive rooms to rest in at the end of the day.
Old Bank House
Located on one of the main streets of tiny Kinsale, Old Bank House is an intimate hotel set in a large Georgian townhouse with high ceilings and plenty of period detail. It has a quiet, restful atmosphere, though its central location means all the bars, restaurants and activity that Kinsale has to offer are just a few minutes’ walk away.
The elegant rooms at Old Bank House are spacious and inviting with palettes of gold and white accented by rich shades of purple, red and green. In addition, there’s a gourmet cafe on the ground floor where a full Irish breakfast is served as well as hearty lunches and delicious cakes in the afternoon.

Subtle patterns and fresh, natural palettes prevail throughout the rooms reflecting the hotel’s overall Georgian style. Accents of purple, green and red welcome visitors into well-appointed rooms with comfy beds and plenty of space to move around. All rooms are en suite, and bathrooms have a shower over the bath in all but the suite, which has a separate shower and bath.
The Old Bank House benefits from a central location in charming Kinsale and is set at the quieter end of Pearse Street, one of the town's main thoroughfares. Kinsale’s myriad shops, cafes, restaurants and art galleries are all within easy walking distance. The property is also easily accessible from Cork which is about a 30-minute drive away.
Food and drink
The Gourmet Cafe serves a hearty breakfast every morning, with the option for a full Irish breakfast or something a bit lighter and healthier. Lunch is also served at the cafe, including a children’s menu, with delicious soups and sandwiches made from locally-sourced ingredients. Alternatively, guests can dine a few doors up the road at the hotel’s sister property, the Blue Haven Hotel.
There’s a lift at the Old Bank House but this is not wheelchair accessible. There are sets of steps throughout the property and narrow corridors.
We like the privacy and tranquility offered by this guesthouse-style property, despite its central location.
