The Tambopata Research Centre has 13 basic lodges for both travellers and researchers and it is located opposite the world's largest macaw clay lick. The centre is composed of 4 connected thatch roof buildings, built in a low-impact native style, the bedrooms are designed to have an unobstructed view of the forest, thus maximising wildlife spotting opportunities. Bathroom facilities are shared and there is only cold water.
