The Tambopata Research Center has 13 basic lodges for both travellers and researchers and it is located opposite the world's largest macaw clay lick.
The center comprises four connected thatch roof buildings, built in a low-impact native style. The bedrooms are designed to have an unobstructed view of the forest, thus maximising wildlife spotting opportunities. Bathroom facilities are shared and there is only cold water.
