Three Tree Hill

Three Tree Hill is found in the foothills of the central Drakensberg overlooking the Battlefield of Spioenkop and the Spioenkop Nature Reserve. Named after the hill on which General Sir Charles Warren held his headquarters during the battle, the lodge is an ideal base from which to explore the Drakensberg as well as discovering the history of Anglo-Boer wars. Set in a spectacular landscape of rolling hills, dams and (on a clear day) the distant Drakensberg mountain range, Three Tree Hill consists of twin or double cottages, and three family cottages which are individually named. The cottages are decorated in a tasteful colonial style. Each is en suite, with a private deck and views of Spioenkop — even from the bath.

The main lodge with its wide verandas and library is the perfect setting at the end of the day for dining and exchanging stories with fellow guests while excellent food is served. When not on walks or historical tours, guests can sit back and enjoy the tranquil surroundings or relax at the pool. There is abundant Anglo-Boer war memorabilia throughout the lodge and a beautiful boma for alfresco dining during the warmer months, as well as cosy log fires for chilly winter evenings.
