2 Blackburne Terrace

2 Blackburne Terrace

Quiet and unassuming but lovingly designed, 2 Blackburne Terrace is discreetly tucked away on a cobbled, tree-lined street in the culturally-rich Georgian Quarter of Liverpool. Owners Sarah and Glenn are local residents and along with their friendly dog Miles, welcome you with warm hospitality.

Their background in design and the high level of detail with which they care for their home and guests is obvious in the meticulously-curated decor which artfully combines bold statement furniture with traditional antiques and modern art. Little personal touches can be seen throughout from monogrammed cushions and locally-sourced chocolates in your room to hand-squeezed orange juice for breakfast.

High ceilings and natural light lend an airy feel to the four individually-decorated rooms. All are large and bright with thick carpets, oversized beds, and marble bathrooms with free-standing Victorian tubs.

Breakfast is an elaborate, communal affair cooked to order and served around the large table in the dining room. Several hot options are available, including signature sausages from the local butcher, as well as a large selection of fresh fruit, home-made compote and assorted fresh and locally-sourced breads.

Location

In the heart of Liverpool’s Georgian Quarter, a vibrant area with a good choice of restaurants and several major sites of interest, 2 Blackburne Terrace is within walking distance of a range of attractions but sits on a leafy, cobbled backstreet. Albert Dock, the Baltic Quarter, the Ropewalks, and the historical William Brown Street are all within a mile of the property.

Food and drink

Served at the large, oval dining table on fine china with crystal glasses and silver cutlery, breakfast at 2 Blackburne Terrace is an elaborate affair. Guests eat communally with tea strained at the table, hot dishes cooked to order, and plenty of locally-sourced and organic ingredients on the menu. You’ll also get a huge choice of fresh fruit, natural yoghurt, organic granola and coffee served from silver pots.

Reminiscent of the smoking rooms of times past, the sitting room at 2 Blackburne Terrace has an intimate atmosphere, over-sized sofas and the walls lined by bookshelves. It’s a great place to browse the carefully-selected collection of books, sink deep into one of the sofas, and recharge with a cup of tea or coffee.
