Zarafa Camp

Zarafa is the new name for the venerable Zibadianja Camp, set in a beautiful location looking toward the Zibadianja Lagoon.

The stunning accommodation has been upgraded to the highest of standards, with just four luxuriously appointed "marquis style" tents. It is one of the most private, exclusive camps in Botswana, with a maximum of eight guests staying at any one time.

Each cavernous tent is split into two spacious sections, with a grand living area and a stylish bedroom. It is all beautifully decorated in a traditional, nostalgic safari style, with comfortable sofas, dark wood furnishings, a spirits bar, a small library and an old fashioned telescope in the living space. In the bedroom there's a huge bed under mosquito nets, a beautiful copper bath, twin basins, an en suite indoor shower and a gorgeous gas fireplace that is perfect for the winter evenings. Walk outside onto the extensive deck and you'll find a unique outside shower, entwined in a swirl of copper piping, with water streaming out from above your head and at waist level.

All of this splendour is located under cool, shady trees with spectacular views of the Zibadianja Lagoon from the private veranda. The finishing touch is a good sized plunge pool on a deck for each of the tents, which are widely spaced out on sand pathways to guarantee that all this luxury can be enjoyed in complete privacy and peace.

Activities from Zarafa focus on day and night game drives, generally returning to camp in the middle of the day to relax and take a siesta. Guests can also opt to take their siesta at viewing platforms or hides, set up at beautiful locations within the concession to enjoy some leisurely game viewing. Walking safaris from camp are also possible with experienced guides.
