Rooms

The resort has 102 suites, divided into four different categories, the Deluxe Suite, Superior Deluxe Suite, Grand Suite with Private Pool and Royal Suite with Private Pool. All are spacious and elegantly appointed in traditional Arabian style and benefit from their own outdoor courtyards. Facilities include air conditioning, TV, Wi-Fi access, hair dryer, minibar and walk-in wardrobes.

Location

A secluded haven on the shores of the Red Sea near Hurghada, the Oberoi has great views out over the water. Good shopping and nightlife are just a short taxi ride away.

Food and drink

There are three main dining options at the Sahl Hasheesh.

The Pergola is located next to the swimming pool, with beautiful views over the Red Sea. It serves a light menu of pizza, salads and pasta. In the evening the main restaurant offers an à la carte menu of international fare.

The other option is the elegant blue and silver Zaafran restaurant which offers Oriental and Indian cuisine which we recommend booking in advance. There is also a bar located near the swimming pool which offers pre-dinner drinks and light entertainment.

Families

The kids' club is open from 9:30am until 5pm, for children aged 5 to 12, and is complimentary.

Facilities and activities

The resort is dominated by an expansive infinity pool with deckchairs. It's the perfect place to relax with a book, swim or sunbathe. There is a timetable of complimentary activities for guests to take part in, including Pilates, moonlight theater, culinary experiences and yoga. These can be made private for an additional fee.

The hotel has an onsite spa offering an extensive range of treatments focussing on techniques from Bali and Thailand. There is a luxurious steam room in private gardens and a couple’s suite for romantic paired treatments.

Scuba diving is one of the main reasons that guests are drawn to the Red Sea, with over 400 species of coral and 20% of the world’s fish species living in these tropical waters. There is a PADI certified course offered at the hotel and a range of private dives, sea dives and night dives for experienced scuba divers.

Guests can enjoy the ocean without dipping under the surface, with a boat cruise on one of the Oberoi’s private boats. Enjoy a sunset cruise, snorkel or trip to the nearby islands.

Local excursions

The Dive Pro Academy can organize private or group fishing and boat trips. Further afield, you could go on a Cairo or Luxor trip, jeep and quad bike safari, horse and camel riding, submarine trips and trips to St. Paul and St. Anthony monasteries.

Diving

The Red Sea is one of the world's diving hotspots and the hotel has a PADI certified dive facility on the beach. The Dive Pro Academy arranges most dive courses: Discover Scuba Diving, Bubblemakers, PADI Scuba Dive Course, PADI Open Water Dive Course, PADI Adventure Dive Course, PADI Advanced Open Water Dive Course, PADI Rescue Dive Course, and PADI Dive Master Dive Course.

There is a house reef around the pier but many more sites can be explored by boat.

Spa Facilities

The Oberoi Spa is world renowned and you can enjoy treatments using L'Occitane and Omorovicza products. Oberoi signature massages include the Spirit of the Pharaoh and Red Sea Discovery, but they also specialize in Thai and Balinese massages.
