Unassuming from the outside, this 42-suite hotel is situated in Vancouver’s West End, just off Denman Street with its wide variety of restaurants and bars. Elevators transport you to your suite, all of which are generously sized with the feel of a modern central city apartment.
Choose from a studio, one or two-bedroom suite complete with full kitchen, an open-plan living and dining room and a small balcony. Cream walls and wooden floors give the property a contemporary feel, along with modern amenities such as TVs in both the living rooms and bedrooms and complimentary Wi-Fi.
In the evening, head up to the property’s inviting rooftop terrace, which is furnished with loungers, barbecues and fairy lights. From here, you have views over downtown Vancouver and the water beyond.
The property offers a range of different room types to suit different group sizes and preferences, from studios to one or two-bedroom suites. With large bay windows and doors that open out onto a small balcony, the suites have plenty of natural light. Fireplaces and air conditioning allow you to control the room temperature. Full kitchens give you the flexibility of self-catering and include an oven with hob, fridge-freezer, microwave, dishwasher and coffee maker. There’s also a washer-dryer should you need to do laundry. The open-plan living room includes a large TV, sofa and coffee table, while the bedrooms have ample storage space.
The property is situated on the corner of Robson Street, just a short stroll from Denman Street’s cafes, bars and restaurants. Stanley Park is around a ten-minute walk away, it’s a 15-minute walk to the beach, while the downtown area is around 30 minutes away on foot.
Food and Drink
While there’s no restaurant on site, the rooftop terrace provides barbecues on a first-come-first-served basis, and there are excellent self-catering facilities in your suite. If you’d prefer to dine out, Denman Street has lots of restaurants and cafes to choose from, while downtown is a 30-minute walk or five-minute taxi ride away.
The various different sizes and layouts of the suites means families can easily be accommodated here. Some of the suites can be interconnected to create space for up to six guests, with two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a sofa bed. Having the option to self-cater or hold your own barbecue on the terrace also appeals to families.
We find this property is a good option for anyone who likes a bit of flexibility and independence while staying in a central Vancouver location. While the basement-level reception can present an odd first impression, suites are spacious, well-equipped and tastefully decorated.
