Hotel Korcula De La Ville
Built in 1906, this grand palm tree-lined building overlooking the seaside promenade and the medieval Old Town is the oldest hotel on Korčula. Following extensive refurbishments, it offers an elegant cafe with chandeliers, velvet armchairs, lavender hued walls, bookcases, and a stylish white bar in addition to a restaurant that serves an all-day menu drawing focus on Dalmatian and international specialities. Due to the historic nature of the property, the 20 classically designed rooms and suites are cosy but very comfortable. All feature modern amenities, with some offering wonderful sea views. The hotel’s highlight is the alfresco terrace where you can enjoy generous buffet breakfasts, afternoon cocktails, sunset drinks, and a very relaxed ambience.
Varying in size and layout, the 20 small but comfortable rooms reveal classic design touches with deep blue hued walls, white and grey furnishings, and antique chandeliers. All have flatscreen TVs with digital channels, air conditioning, complimentary Wi-Fi, and en-suite bathrooms with showers and toiletries. The Superior rooms have larger windows than the Standard rooms, with some offering private balconies. The hotel’s suites are duplex style and feature a downstairs living room and an upstairs bedroom with skylights. The suites can accommodate an extra guest on the pull-out couch.
Tucked between Korčula Old Town’s medieval walls and the seafront promenade, you’ll be within five minutes on foot from the town’s main attractions, including St. Mark’s Cathedral, Korčula Cathedral Treasury, and Marco Polo House. The dock for the passenger ferries to some of Croatia’s most popular islands, including Hvar and Brač, is just steps away from the hotel.
Food and Drink
Offering indoor and outdoor dining, the restaurant serves a mix of Dalmatian and international dishes paired with excellent local wines. Breakfast is enjoyed buffet style and includes a wide selection of hot and cold dishes, fruits, pastries, and yoghurts as well as tea and coffee. For afternoon cocktails and sunset drinks, the terrace facing the waterfront is a magical spot.
The hotel does not have an elevator and the majority of guest rooms require stairs to access.
We recommend Hotel Korcula de la Ville for its ideal location, perched along the historic walls of the city and overlooking the bay. Rooms are simple but comfortable; some with scenic sea views.
