The Lost Iguana Resort is a lovely hotel peacefully nestled about 30 minutes' drive from La Fortuna in over 100 acres of virgin rainforest.

This property does occasionally experience high levels of humidity but it is one of the few hotels with plenty of character compared to others in the Arenal area. The 42 rooms are dotted across the mountainside and are comfortably furnished with local materials and decorated with local and international artwork.

The large private terraces are surrounded by jungle and have stunning views to Arenal Volcano, making this a beautiful setting. You can view hundreds of birds, butterflies and hummingbirds without leaving your terrace and on site facilities include private trails through the rainforest, the Blue Hibiscus restaurant, two swimming pools and a spa.

Please note they do not have a 'coffee house' despite the resort signs and we do have mixed reports regarding the standards of food in the restaurant when it is busy.
