Travancore Heritage, Kovalam, India
Based on the traditional style of regional architecture, the atmospheric Travancore Heritage is set in eight acres of landscaped coconut palm gardens on a high cliff above the beach. It has great views of the Arabian Sea and the long sandy beach at Chowara and is a 20-minute drive from Kovalam itself. The reception building is a 120 year old palace and rooms are located in different areas of the grounds. The simply furnished standard Beach Grove rooms are situated in a two storey block and are closest to the beach and sea food restaurant, while the Heritage rooms, not far from the reception and main restaurant, have more character and are more traditional in style. The beach is accessed by a lift.
