The Cape Cadogan is housed in an attractive, historic building which was awarded National Monument status in 1984. Built in both Georgian and Victorian architectural styles, the building has retained many of its original features, but combines them with modern amenities. The calm and sophisticated interiors provide a welcoming, comfortable retreat from the rush of the city. In the main courtyard is a terrace and plunge pool for guests to sit back and soak up the sunshine, while the library offers a social area for mingling with other guests. You can also sample some of the fine wines at the hotel's honesty bar, or relax with a book in front of the fire in colder months.
Rooms are spacious and stylishly decorated in neutral tones with contemporary, chic furnishings. All have large en suite bathrooms as well as air conditioning and tea/coffee-making facilities. Categories include Standard rooms, Luxury rooms and a Superior Luxury Suite, which boasts its own private plunge pool. The rooms are spread between different sections of the building, divided by small courtyards. The Luxury rooms, and Superior Luxury Suite benefit from a private balcony or courtyard. Standard conveniences in all rooms include a hairdryer, safe, satellite TV and minibar.
The property is situated in the heart of the city bowl, within close proximity to the top restaurants on Kloof Street and many of the city attractions. Table Mountain is just a five minute taxi ride away. The hotel offers a thrice daily shuttle to the V&A Waterfront, and a pleasant walk down Kloof Street brings you into Long Street with its numerous shops and vibrant nightlife.
Food and Drink
The breakfast room is open every morning to serve a continental buffet and hot à la carte options cooked to order.
