Boutique in size, One Marine Drive sits just a few minutes' stroll from Hermanus’ beachfront, benefiting from views stretching across the Atlantic Ocean. If you're looking to make the most of the water based activities or walking trails in the area's surrounding nature reserves, it's an ideal base.

Within a short walking distance you can also reach a number of cafes and restaurants in town. The front of the property faces the Cliff Path, and although situated at the corner of two busier residential streets, the convenience the location provides makes it easy to overlook.

OUR OPINION:

We love the personable service offered at the Marine. While the rooms are modestly sized, each suite features expansive views overlooking the bay, making it an ideal place for land based whale watching or simply sipping a gin and tonic at sundown.

Rooms

There are just eight rooms at One Marine Drive, each modern and decorated in coastal tones. While they aren’t generously spacious, they each contain their own private balcony with a pair of loungers, as well as tea and coffee making facilities, air conditioning, complimentary Wi-Fi, and a TV. The upper level houses the sea-view and premium sea-view rooms, which make the most of the panoramic views over Walker Bay. 

Location

Within a 15-minute walk, you can reach the heart of town and local cafes and restaurants, while the cliff path, straight across the road leads you to some of the best views for land-based whale watching in Hermanus during whale watching season.

Food and drink

Breakfast is included at One Marine Drive and is served until 11:00am. You can order from the fully serviced bar and all-day dining menu if you’re looking to have a bite to eat at the hotel rather than in town. 

Facilities and activities

In between exploring Hermanus and the surrounding coastline, you can relax by the property’s small pool or laze away the afternoon in a sun lounger paired with a refreshing drink. Staff here are friendly and always at hand to share their knowledge and recommendations of things to do in the area. While there isn’t a dedicated spa on-site, you can organise in-room treatments from the Zest Spa.
