This three-and-a-half-hour winter bicycle tour will give you a good introduction for the layout of downtown Toronto. Led by a knowledgeable local guide, the tour includes stops at some of Toronto’s best-loved cultural and historical landmarks, major attractions and districts. From the CN Tower and Union Station, to Kensington Market and Sugar Beach, this tour will orient you in the city and give you some ideas for how to spend the rest of your time in Toronto.
Meet your guide at the downtown office to get set up with a bike and helmet, as well as go through city cycling safety and the hand gestures that you will be using throughout the tour. You’ll also be provided with water, a granola bar and hand warmers in case it is a particularly cold day. Your guide will carry a fleece poncho and spare winter gloves on them if you need them. Toronto is perfectly safe to cycle around in the winter — the roads are very rarely dangerous and are consistently cleared of snow and ice. You’re likely to work up quite an appetite after this experience, and your guide will be more than happy to point out some good places to visit for lunch.
