One&Only Cape Town

Cape Town, South Africa

One&Only Cape Town is situated in Cape Town’s fashionable V&A Waterfront area. From its vantage point, you can look up to Table Mountain, and easily access the bars and restaurants of the Waterfront.

The rooms here are spacious and are either located in the main hotel building or on a man-made island. The hotel has a large gym, pool and a spa which offers some of the best treatments in the city. One&Only Cape Town is ideal for families with younger children and offers a package of activities specifically designed for children. Restaurants here include the world-famous Nobu, which serves Japanese cuisine, and Reuben’s, which has an international menu with a few tasty local dishes.

OUR OPINION:

We think that One&Only Cape Town is one of the best hotel options in the city due to its great location in the heart of the V&A Waterfront area. We also like how the hotel's buildings are designed to make the most of the views of Table Mountain, with all but a handful of rooms having a terrace or balcony.

OUR RATING: Opulent

Rooms

One&Only offers the largest rooms and suites in the city, and is the only resort to feature the option of two queen-sized beds. Every room has ample indoor and outdoor space. Floor-to-ceiling glass doors lead out to secluded balconies and terraces, with views over the marina and Table Mountain or across the city's waterways. Rooms have rich upholstery and features such as standalone bathtubs. There are also several suites, which have large sitting areas and the very best views.

Location

The hotel enjoys a central location on the V&A Waterfront, where you'll find shops, restaurants and entertainment options. Overlooking the waterways, with panoramic views of Table Mountain, it really feels as if you're in the heart of the city's action when you stay here.

Food and drink

Dining options include the Michelin-starred Nobu, Reuben Riffel’s brasserie Reuben’s, and an alfresco Mediterranean dining spot, Isola. The hotel has an extensive wine cellar (the 'Wine Loft') and hosts wine-pairing dinners with local winemakers. There's a bar and lounge, Vista, which serves cocktails and vintage Champagnes, and which overlooks Table Mountain. The hotel can also arrange in-room or private dining on request.

Families

The hotel has a children's club which is fully supervised year-round. Children between the ages of 4 and 12 can take part in its activities and use its facilities, which include a Wii, Xbox and a PlayStation hub. Other children's activities on offer include sports, games, and art sessions.

Facilities and activities

The hotel has a gallery and a boutique showcasing South African fashion and art. The real feather in its cap, though, is its spa, which offers a range of treatments and is set among pools and landscaped gardens. There's also a gym with a range of equipment and its classes include yoga, Pilates, and boxing.
