My love for travel began when I was very young. My mother had visited lots of different countries throughout the 1970s and as a small child I often looked through her photo albums, gazing at those worldly images and dreaming of the day when I too could visit such wonders.
It was India that stood out to me: the temples, food, dress and vibrant markets captured my imagination. To date, I’ve spent more than six months in India, and with each visit I love it even more. It really is a country that touches my heart and keeps calling me back.
Whether it’s exploring cities in the north like Jaipur, where Maharajas once resided, taking an overnight boat through the relaxing backwaters of the south, or visiting the beautiful French Quarters of Pondicherry in Tamil Nadu, there’s so much to see within India and a trip to this incredible country has something to offer for everyone.
I'll never forget when…
The night tour of Varanasi is an incredible experience and should not be missed when visiting this deeply fascinating and spiritual city. Winding your way through the narrow streets with the smell of incense in the the air, you will enter the world of death and rebirth — as mourned and celebrated within the Indian culture. Your guide will bring alive the stories of the Gods and invite you into conversation with the friendly locals you meet. Fire, chanting, bells, mystery and history, this experience really opened my eyes and heart to the hidden rituals of India.
