I first found my love for Southeast Asia at 13 while visiting Malaysia on a family trip. Everything about this region of the world, from the food and the people to the architecture, was different and exciting. From then I knew I had to explore more of this intriguing part of the world.
At age 21 I embarked on my first big solo trip visiting Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos and Malaysia and experienced first-hand what these captivating countries had to offer. In 2013 I worked my way around Australia and then ventured to Indonesia and back to Thailand and Cambodia. My love for travel doesn't stop at Asia, though. In early 2017 I visited Ghana, where I volunteered as a teacher.
Outside travel, my interests include playing the guitar and drums. I'm also a very keen golfer where my competitiveness knows no bounds.
I'll never forget when…
Arriving for a short visit in Lombok, a friend and I decided to rent some mopeds to explore. The road leading from the port to the main town, Senggigi, is smooth tarmac running along the coastline and offers sweeping views of the ocean and Lombok's beaches. One day after riding around it got dark before we found somewhere to stay. After searching for a couple of hours, we eventually found a place and then woke in the morning to find our hotel was located right at the foot of Mount Rinjani and our room had the best view in the house.
